Zentex is finnish musician Jari Marjamäki. Born in Turku, Finland, he's lived since the early 90's in Lisbon, Portugal. He began his career in the mid-nineties, first as a programmer and producer with local indie bands, and later as a solo artist and a dj.

Under his Zentex alias he focuses mainly in expressing his own vision of techno and house sound. He has released his music in labels like Traum Schallplatten(Cologne), Boxer Recordings (Cologne), Resopal Red (Berlin), Archipel (Montreal), Minisketch (Barcelona), as well as on portuguese labels Bloop, Plot and Sui Generiz. His releases have been remixed by Alex Under, Gui Boratto, Jussi-Pekka and Cosmic Sandwich, and he has remixed names like Popof, Jussi-Pekka, Andrés Fumero and Antalgic.

He has adapted this project into a fully featured one-man live act, and has since performed in many events and clubs around Europe. He has performed alongside a row of international artists including names like Thomas Brinkmann, Riley Reinhold, Butch, Magda, Steve Barnes, Portable, Perc, Steve Cobby, Miss Kittin, To Rococo Rot, Luomo/Vladislav Delay, Sami Koivikko, Legowelt, Jori Hulkkonen, Jazzanova, Zombie Nation, Billy Dalessandro, among many others.

Currently he is busy deejaying (as dj Yari) and playing live with his many aliases and side-projects such as Monokone, Deestant Rockers, 3 Wyze Men, Ballet Mecanico. His other activities include running odd clubnights, organizing a weekly improvised electronic music sessions, Therapy Mondays, and working as a consultant for an online store Digital-Tunes.net. He creates music for commercials and installations, and collaborates with visual and performative artists. In the field of contemporary dance performances, he integrates Miguel Pereira's piece "Doo" as a musician/performer and has worked with choreographers Mario Afonso and João Samoes. He hosted a weekly radio show in Lisbon based radios Oxigenio and Quimica FM, featuring minimal electronica, electro and techno.
