"Mirei is about more than music - it's about presence and imagination, about daring to let go and meet something new"
The Swedish duo Mirei has been recognized as one of the most promising in Sweden’s music scene. The 2013 tour program among other things will include a concert from the Swedish Radio orchestra’s chamber music series, performed with guests from the Swedish Radio symphony orchestra, as well as a collaboration with the string quartet “The Migdal Quartet”.
Mirei is a duo with its own compositions where beautiful sounds and heartfelt texts meet. With four instruments Johanna Edberg and Natalie Migdal share a personal moment with their audience. Natalie’s classical roots and Johanna’s background in Jazz gives Mirei an expression without boundaries where the music and improvisation is in focus. Each performance is unique, and time and time again this small, intimate duo amaze their audience with just how much they manage to surprise and challenge their listeners.
Since their debute at the “Skurup Festival” in 2012, Mirei has quickly gone from success to success. They have already performed at some of the biggest scenes in Stockholm – Fasching, Södra Teatern, Engelsberg’s Herrgard, the art gallery “SUR Hornstull as well as in Norrkopings center for culture. In the Autumn of 2012 they released their first official music video “The Night”, shortly followed by their 2nd video “I’m sorry”.
