Helsinki Poetry Connection

Helsinki Poetry Connection and mbar in collaboration present hailed UK-based poet Roger Robinsson. During the night we'll also hear poetry from Kasper Salonen and host of the night, Harri Hertell. Roger Robinsson has worked with De La Soul and Run DMC to name few. He combines minimalistic sounds of electronic music with poetry.

Roger Robinson emerged in the early nineties as one of spoken words most inventive performers bridging the gap between literary and popular culture scenes. A native of Trinidad and Tobago, who has taught English literature at colleges and schools across the country, he has become one of England’s most intelligent and gifted poets.

Kasper Salonen (b. 1987) is a Finnish poet. He performs in both English and Finnish, mostly spoken word, and loves the sound of closing doors but hates the sight of locked ones. Salonen also works as a freelance translator. He lives in Helsinki.

Harri Hertell is a poet, spoken word artist, dj and cultural manager from Helsinki, Finland. As a spoken word performer, he forms half of dub poetry project Dubros and spits lyrics for spoken word duo Hertell & Hertell.
